Q. Do you have a nick name and if you do, what is it and why?
A. None that I’m currently aware of!

Q. When and how did you get into cycling?
A. Early nineties. A combination of working in a bike shop (was trained as a mechanic) and the hugely exciting mountain bike craze that emerged at that time.

Q. What do you like the most about cycling?
A. Adventure and eating cakes.

Q. Who is your cycling hero?
A. Miguel Indurain

Q. What is your dream bike?
A. Pinarello Dogma

Q. What has been your proudest or biggest achievement?
A. Cycling from Land’s End to John o’ Groats self-supported in 2021. It was one hell of an adventure.

Q. Garmin or Wahoo?
A. Garmin so far.

Q. Shimano or Campagnolo?
A. Both are great but when are we going to get past derailleurs for changing gear? The technology is 70+ years old…

Q. What do you love?
A. Adventure in the form of travel, cycling, skiing and snowboarding. Also fishing and golf.

Q. What do you dislike?
A. Brexit, inequality, inconsiderate road users and golf.

Q. You are hosting a diner party and you can invite 4 people from the past or present; who would you invite?
A. Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Tommy Cooper, Barack Obama, Holliday Grainger
