So 22 of us rocked up to the Colchester Gateway session, some tentatively even wore summer shorts, as the weather man has been banging on about how mild it is!
We also welcomed a couple of newbies too.
After a warm up, where we discovered it may not have been as warm as the weather man lead us to believe and of course the usual battle with the wind along the top corner and top straight, we were ready for the delights that LS had in store for us.
First up was something called Ukrainian Steps (used be called Russian Steps but in light of the worlds problems we re-named it). This involved us going out in pairs and listening out for LS’s whistles to know when to sprint and when to pedal easy. It was like HIIT session on a bike, it definitely got all the heart rates up and those that may have been chilly in shorts were no longer!
After a second attempt at this on a shorter course, so we could hear Davids whistles, we then had a go at Team Chase. This is where there a two groups at opposite sides of the track and the number one rider of each group has to chase down the back of the other group. Its a lovely activity where you find out who your friends are!!
We then had a bit of good ole chain gang to finish up a very enjoyable session.
Roll on December for the next session!
Well done everyone sounds like a good day , I'm looking forward to the next one
Big thanks to David For figuring out the training session and coming all the way over the border to shout at us all ( in the nicest way obviously )
