What a brilliant first coaching session at Colchester Gateway today , these sessions were organised to give everyone a chance to come down and ride in the safety of the track and hopefully learn a few tips and pointers especially good for us newbies and those not so confident on the group rides , this will be a regular monthly thing which has been paid for by the grant money NEV received from Essex council so it's being put to very good use
So , back to today , coached by Mr Smith today , who's calm and gentle tone could be heard for miles 😁, the track was very windy and luckily we were practising tight group riding in various forms , from long drags on the front to short through and offs , the group's were all working well together and learning to communicate down the line and to make sure everyone was looked out for , after several laps of this format we then did a chase session , with a group heading out and the other 4 groups in hot pursuit, which obviously put the changeovers to the test as it had to be quite pacy
Well done to the 16 members who made it along today , everyone worked hard and I know coach was really happy with how it went , we should all be very proud
There will be various video footage of the group's thanks to Luke moving from group to group with it on his bike and once the go pro has been edited and I've worked out how to get my footage on !!!but until then there are photos of the session in the gallery
We hope to see more people at the next session as it will be quite a special one so pop that in your diaries 12th Nov and come along for some fun training where various speeds and abilities will be equally looked after , these are your sessions so if there is anything you want to be included then let either Smithy or Ian D know
